How I Lost my Sensitivity toward Humanity

I was watching news yesterday - an incident that happened in Tirunelveli - Tamil Nadu - India.

A police man - Vetrivel - was badly stabbed by some hooligans (in fact he was the wrong person), who was bleeding profusely - lay besides a small village highway.

There was a convoy of political leaders - in fact ministers of the state were passing and noticed this scene. The stopped but the two ministers - first one the health minister and the second one the sports minister under Tamil Nadu government - elected representatives of the state and a bureaucrat - a district collector stood and watched the horror - that is when the police inspector was badly wounded and crying for help - screaming with pain - a real horror to see even the video.

All this happened when the two minister and the collector stood mere spectator watching the scene without being sensitive to the situation. They could have done so much - to save this life - a simple first-aid could have saved him and may be immediately transporting him to the nearest hospital could have saved this precious life.

The horror followed later when none-of the channels in Tamil Nadu telecast this horror. The reason the ministers in power own 50-80 % of the channels (who stood spectators) and 30 % by the opposition - whose members were involved in the murder.

I LOST TODAY MY SENSITIVITY TOWARDS HUMANITY - by not honoring basic human gestures.
